We're celebrating Matariki with our friends from Lollipops Grey Lynn! 🌌
This special visual arts session honours the Māori New Year with the theme Matariki Herenga Waka 🛶
Our tamariki will explore the nine stars of Matariki and share their wishes and aspirations, sing and dance to Te Kōtare songs, and journey through the ancient pūrākau of Rangi & Papa 🌏
We'll be weaving with flax (raranga), planting for Papatūānuku, building bug hotels, and diving into starry-night sensory play 🌠 Little hands will also craft manutukutuku (kites), sculpt taonga keepsake necklaces, and light up the room with glowing jar lanterns 🏮
A beautiful cross-cultural celebration of connection, whakapapa, and wonder right here at BabySteps 💫
